DeerLake Weekly Letter
February 5th, 2010
The Home Depot store. Seems to us that they
are just like the Lowes Store. We have enjoyed shopping at both for many years.
Well, we have a little story to tell you about how these two stores are
different.
Our clothes-dryer broke down, so off we go, shopping
for a new one. I was not sure what brand was best to buy, so we decided to just
get a medium priced Maytag brand. First stop was Home Depot, cool they have
three levels of Maytag clothes dryers. We bought the middle level of quality
Maytag dryer at Home Depot. They don't actually have any of them in stock. It
was going to be 8 days at least, until Home Depot would get one shipped in.
Then, a few more days before it could be delivered. To keep it short, two days
after ordering, things happen and we do not need or want the dryer. So we
canceled our order. Home Depot informs us that we will have to pay a 15%
restocking fee. Well we do agree that we probably do owe them the 15% for
canceling our order. But, we just wanted to point out to all of You, that Lowes
is 90 days return on nearly all items, with no restocking fees. And, hats off to
Costco, 1 year returns on most things and certainly no restocking fees there. To
sum it up, Home Depot had my dryer, still in the box, at their store and expects
me to pay a $95.00 restocking fee. Ouch!

My Parents taught me
that I could do anything I wanted to do. You will never get anything if you do
not reach for it. If you fall, get up and try again. Don't worry about the
future or even tomorrow, because today is all we have. Do your best today and
the future will take care of it's self. You can lie there and wait for tomorrow
or get up and finish out the day.
Any time of year is a good time to share some Love and
let others know that you care. Valentine's Day is another opportunity to make
someone's day special.

cute guys are just perfect for Valentine's Day, which is coming up really soon.

Row-D-E-Os, I think they are great. Just wish they could be longer. In our small
town there are three places to see rodeos all summer long. Hard to imagine what
them cowboys put themselves through, buckin horses, ridin the bulls, barrel
racing, steer wrestling. Of course my favorites are the ones with the kids,
mutton bustin, chicken chase, palomino horse mount. Becca has put together
another video of last year's rodeo fun.
Soon we also have the winter rodeo to attend. A little snow and cold can't keep
us down.

January 15th, 2010
We went to the new
Avatar movie, two times. The first time, it was crowded and we had to sit way to
the front. It was much better watching the second time from near the middle of
the theater. Over all, I would say the movie is great. There is a part in the
middle where everyone is happy, the forest scenes are fantastic, and then they
fly, WOW. Love that part. I have always dreamed of flying, and I don't mean in
an airplane.

January 10th, 2010
One week into the
year 2010 already. This time of year is so relaxing around these parts. A time of
thought and meditation. Thoughts about curling up with a good book on a cold
winters day. Reflecting on the years passed and how this year can be better.
I know a lot of you out there are getting some pretty
cold weather. Not at all what you are used to. So take it from us here in
Montana, it is time to sit back and let the snow fall. Relax a little and get
ready for what lies ahead. Soon enough the days will become longer and the
outdoor chores will be calling again. I'm dreaming about the bird feeders I will
build this year too. Want them to be big and cleanable, and have several perch
places just above them that will make nice photos. Going to set it all up so we
can shoot great photos of all our local birds.
