Bought me an owl and put it out by the garden. Who
knew, they say it will keep many birds away. Maybe I'll be getting more
strawberries from the garden this year. Don't mind sharing, as long as I get my
half.
Baby deer are sure nice to watch. Soon we'll be seeing them every day. The
mother's are shy at first, they keep their fawns hidden away. But like many
mom's, soon they will loosen up and try to get the little guys out from under
them. I'm looking forward to all their rowdiness more than ever. I'm excited to
see if I can catch their frolicking play with the video camera.
The 4th is just around the corner and we have some patriotic fun this week.

Summer is off to a great start. The warmer temperatures
are sure welcome to us up here in the northern region. All the summer time fun
things are under way. Time to make a plan so we can take advantage of all the
best events. Hey, this is the last year for any smoking in public places here in
Montana. October 1st is the deadline. Hurray! This is gonna be great. Now I'll
be able to stop off any old place and not have to endure that stinky smoke. Just
goes to show that things do keep changing for the better. Now if they could just
pass a law against those pesky deer hanging out in the roads at night.
This one is just for fun.

June 12th, 2009
Today is the day, seen the first baby deer. It was only
a few minutes old and had wobbly legs. The mama was sure protective, didn't want
any lookee loos. Soon the little deers will be running, jumping and playing.
I'll try to get a few good movies and pictures for you to enjoy. Often times
they will play right in front of our window. One of the interesting statistics
about Montana is, there are more deer than people. It's normal to see 20 to 40
deer feeding in evening in a field near our home. One day I counted 78. Must
have been family reunion.

My oh My, how the time flies by. We had a nice time
climbing up Columbia Mountain. A beautiful waterfall and pretty close to home.
Another proven fact, there are always more fun adventures close to home just
waiting to be discovered. The views were very nice looking back over the
Flathead valley. The waterfall was small and peaceful, well worth the climb of
getting there. Surrounded with big trees and plenty of moss, even the creek had
peaceful beauty that was amazing.

The humming birds are back and keeping us entertained.
We have two good humming bird feeders and they seem to love them both. We do
enjoy setting in our porch swing while watching them cute little guys play. They
only stop by for the summers around here. Makes me wish I had a special lens
just for taking bird photos. We have seen another bird that is bright blue color
and the size of a sparrow, they are new to our yard this year. Oh-my the wonders
of nature.

Hope you have your garden planted too. We did manage to
get our whole garden in early this year. One of the simple pleasures is still
one of the best. How nice it is to harvest fruits and vegetables that are
cleaner, sweeter, and much healthier than store bought.
Ever been to Kootenai Falls. You are sure to enjoy this week's nice video. Sit
back, relax and enjoy the ride.
It is normal for this video to take about 2 minutes to
load before starting to play. If you have dial-up internet, then you may have to
wait quite a bit longer. The Kootenai Waterfall is a bunch of waterfalls, it's like ten waterfalls all around

Howdy, to all you out there. It is a fine time of year,
the weather is great and there's tons of fun things locally to do. Remember
fishing? Get out early while them fish are bitten and make some memories.
Enjoying nature is a sure way to recharge your battery.
This weekend we plan on hiking to see another
waterfall. The Bitterroot waterfall is about 50 miles west of Kalispell and
totally unmarked. Some kind old timer showed me how to find it. The trail isn't
that long, but goes straight down. Time to get on my hiking boots and act like a
billy-goat.

Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms out there.
If you get a chance, do something special for mom. It just takes a little effort
and mom will feel like a queen.
Oh Boy, garden time is here. For me, it's all about
growing things I love to eat. Raspberries, strawberries and tomatoes are top on
my list. There's also room for some squash, corn and peppers too. Why do I love
my garden? Well ya see, those sweet and tart berries are better than chocolate
chip cookies. My mother would tell ya that they are better for your health too.

Remembering Mom in this month of May.
Sunday we are off to a secret waterfalls. I hear it is 80 feet wide and 50 feet
tall. Seems the trail goes up a big mountain and then back into a canyon. The
trail comes to an end right at the falls. We have been to 100 waterfalls in
Montana and never even knew about this one. And this waterfall is very close to
my home. I'm ready to go find this hidden beauty.

We had a nice day taking photos of the Yaak Falls.
Imagine, a beautiful waterfall in the middle of no-where, and it has a nice
highway going right to it. How cool is that. We arrived at the perfect time of
day and stayed till the good light was gone. A great goal is to find all the
good waterfalls in Montana and capture their beauty. Time to get the map out for
another fun trip.

Tomorrow we are off to the Yack (northwest part of
Montana). We hear there's a nice waterfall to photograph. Boy, they knew how to
push our buttons. We both love to take the water pictures. Going to be a long
day and a long drive. But hey, what would you rather be doing. Weather looks

Well
shucks, last week our video had a few problems.
Seems this week we have most of the bugs worked out. This one should start
playing in less than 30 seconds. It now has an auto start. The video page was

Dreaming of warmer days, as I sit
here writing this letter and watching it snow. I can't stop thinking of summer, will it ever get
here? Soon it will be time to get out and enjoy some nature. Waterfalls and wild
animals will be top on our list for this year. We have never gone out with the
idea of just taking photos of animals before, but this year we plan to give it a
go.
I looked at Him first in
wonder, then again in awe.

Got some light hearted fun for ya this week. It
was a perfect day for a snow rodeo. Everyone had a great time with barrel racing,
covered wagon races, bronco riding, and goat roping. Becca made a 5 minute rodeo
video so you too can join in the fun. After the rodeo we stopped by a flowing
river with snow all around. This is our best video yet, so we hope you will

First Day of Spring, and you can tell it in Montana
today. Our first day of 50 degrees and the foot or so of ice and snow is finally
melting. Tomorrow we are off to a Snow Rodeo. Every year at the Isaak Walton
Inn, people come from all around to have some fun. Roping, bronco riding,
covered wagon races, steer roping, and so much more. It's all done on snow. Our
first photo shoot this year, Yee Haw!

A kite, a sky, and a good firm
breeze,
And acres of ground away from trees,
And one hundred yards of clean, strong string --
O boy, O boy!

My doctor told me that I should get more
exercise and eat a better diet. I said, Duh, already knew that. So then she told me about the
elliptical machines at a nearby health club. They are also called cross
trainers. So the next visit to our local health club I tried them out. They are
smooth and comfortable. It's like jogging or fast walking, but without the
impact. I'm finding this machine to be a real life saver. An aerobic workout for
my heart and easy on all my joints. Perhaps it could make your life a little
more comfortable too. We encourage everyone to get fit and stay fit.
Remember to set your clocks
ahead.

Thinking ahead to spring, we are
planning several outings. It's going to be a fine year for gathering photos and video. There is a
place here called Wild Horse Island. The Island is on the Flathead Indian
Reservation and was made into a state park. It's loaded with big horn sheep,
mule deer, elk, wild horses, and many small critters. Perhaps we will go twice,
once for spring baby animals, and once for velvet antlers. Should be a blast so
bring on the summer.

Thanks your all for your kind comments
about our new video. This Video took many hours to make, but that is because we are new at it.
When we get better we may try to make one every week also. Then we would just
add a link on this weekly letter that would be for those wanting to see the
