“It’s never too late to start over. If you weren’t happy with yesterday, try something different today. Don’t stay stuck. Do better.”
I’m a 5o something country girl who loves life! I try to find the good in all situations; sometimes it’s hard, but you’ve got to try.
I married my best friend on June 7, 1974 and it has been one adventure after another. I used to worry that it was just too good to be true. To find someone at such an early age, and have it turn into such a loving and lasting relationship.
Worrying is a misdirected use of our imagination, therefore I try to channel the worry into just being in the moment. I find taking action to correct the things I’m worried about, will help to ease any worry.
I worked for the US Postal Service for 20 years, raised two wonderful kids, who have given me three terrific grandkids. When our kids went off to college and started their own lives, we then decided to try something a little different.
My husband and I started writing inspirational web sites, channeling our thoughts and pages toward the positive things in life. If it doesn’t make someone smile, inspire them or give them a warm feeling, it doesn’t belong on our sites.
I am somewhat obsessed with cooking, not only food that tastes incredibly good but food that’s good for us. We have developed 4 cooking websites.
My favorite is KISS Recipes, (Keep It Simple Silly) cooking healthy does not need to be complicated. You do not need to spend hours or an exuberant amount of money to eat healthy. We grow organic fruits and vegetables on our little farm, raise geese and chickens for their eggs, and occasionally we house a few goats.
I love being creative, resently I went back to school to take a few art classes. I enrolled in a graphic designs program and I’m taking several added art classes on the side. I never considered myself much of an artist growing up. I was more the outdoors person, hiking, skiing, working in the garden. We spent three years hiking through Glacier National Park, photographing and documenting all the hikes for one of our websites. However things change and we get less inclined to spent all of our time away from home.
Four years ago my husband built a pottery studio on the property and we have been teaching ourselves the art of throwing pottery on the wheel. I found this to be a much needed release after the years of computer work. An excellent way to unwind and relax.
I do have to admit that taking college classes has definately moved me out of my comfort zone and into a new world. My goals for this semester are to continue to enrich my life and those I come in contact with. Graphic design and web design classes will have a large impact on the continuing development of our websites. The pottery classes have helped me get a better understanding of the artistic side of pottery.
Digital Portfolio will be challenging for me. I have never had a resume, nor the need to showcase any of my abilities. My goal is to be able to arrange all of my accomplishments in a presentable form.
